1. Devi Bhagwat
Sanskrit Verse:
नववक्त्रो भैरवस्तु धारयेद्वामबाहुके ॥ २०॥
भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदः प्रोक्तो मम तुल्यबलो भवेत्।
श्रूणहत्यासहस्त्राणि ब्रह्महत्याशतानि च॥ २१॥
सद्यः प्रलयमायान्ति नववक्त्रस्य धारणात्।
English Meaning:
The Nine Mukhi Rudraksha is the form of Bhairava and should be worn on the left arm. It grants both worldly fulfillment and liberation. The wearer becomes powerful like the Divine, and grave karmic impurities are destroyed by wearing it.
2. Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Purana
Sanskrit Verse:
नववक्त्रस्तु रुद्राक्षो यमदेव उदाहतः।
तद्धारणाद्यमभयं न भवत्येव सर्वथा॥ ३४॥
English Meaning:
The Nine Mukhi Rudraksha is said to be connected with Yama Dev. By wearing it, the wearer becomes free from the fear of Yama.
3. Shiva Mahapurana
Sanskrit Verse:
भैरवो नववक्त्रश्च कपिलश्च मुनिः स्मृतः।
दुर्गां वा तदधिष्ठात्री नवरूपा महेश्वरी॥ ७४॥
तं धारयेद्वामहस्ते रुद्राक्षं भक्तितत्परः।
सर्वेश्वरो भवेन्नूनं मम तुल्यो न संशयः॥ ७५॥
English Meaning:
The Nine Mukhi Rudraksha is remembered as Bhairava and Kapila Muni. Its presiding deity is also said to be Durga, the nine-formed Maheshwari. A devoted person should wear it on the left hand. Such a wearer becomes powerful and divine-like; there is no doubt.
4. Rudrakshajabala Upanishad
Sanskrit Verse:
नववक्त्रं तु रुद्राक्षं नवशक्त्यधि दैवतम्।
तस्य धारणमात्रेन प्रीयन्ते नवशक्त्यः॥
English Meaning:
The Nine Mukhi Rudraksha is presided over by Nava Shakti, the nine powers of Goddess Durga. By merely wearing it, the Nava Shaktis become pleased.
5. Shiva Mahapurana
Sanskrit Verse:
दुर्गावातदधिष्ठात्री नवरूपा महेश्वरी।
तं धार्येद्धामहस्ते रुद्राक्षं भक्ति तत्परः॥
English Meaning:
The Nine Mukhi Rudraksha is presided over by Goddess Durga, the nine-formed Maheshwari. A devoted wearer should wear this Rudraksha on the left hand.
